The 54mm Precision Shower Screen will restore the factory level of water dispersion and improve your espresso extraction. Since coffee oils and mineral scale tend to build up on factory dispersion screens over time, this results in uneven jetting of the water and harsh channelized extractions.

This direct-fit replacement is made from high-grade 304 food-grade stainless steel and has a micro-perforated 0.2mm precision hole network which is intended to provide a even, shower-like flow over your coffee bed, thus ensuring maximum flavour saturation and smoother shots each time.

Fitment & Dimensions Note

Why is the measured outer diameter equal to 53 mm?

Although it has been designed specifically to fit within Breville's 54mm filter basket system, the actual outer diameter of this shower screen is exactly 53mm. This degree of engineered clearance ensures that it fits smoothly and tightly inside the silicone steam ring which has a 54mm group head without crushing the gasket or leading to side leakage.

How to Replace Your Shower Screen

1. Safety first: switch off your espresso machine and let the group head cool down completely.
2. Take out the old screen: Loosen the central screw on the machine's group head using an Allen key or a screwdriver and then carefully lower the factory shower screen together with the brass holder.
3. Clean the group head: Remove any remaining coffee grounds or old oil build-up from within the group head cavity.
4. Install the screen: Place the new 54mm shower screen onto the holder, reinsert the central screw and hand-tighten it until it is secure. (Do not tighten it too much).
5. Flush and Test: Carry out a 5-second cycle with just water to check that the water flow is smooth and even throughout the screen.
